First pro-rector

Bazhenov Victor Andriovych (born in 1942) is doctor of technical science, professor, head of building mechanics chair (1989), first pro-rector (1988), director of Scientific Research Institute of Building Mechanics (1992).
He is Associate Member of Pedagogical Sciences Academy of Ukraine (1999), Honoured Scientist of Ukraine (1992), Laureate of State Prize of Ukraine in science and engineering (1991, 2003), Member of Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine (1991), Ukrainian Academy of Architecture (1993), Russian Academy of Architecture and construction sciences (1986), International Academy of Sciences of Higher school (1996), Associate Member of Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine.

He graduated from Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute in 1963, worked in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (1963 - !975), Ministry of Higher Education of Ukraine (1975-1986) and simultaneously as an instructor in KNUCA. Since 1986 he works in KNUCA as pro-rector in scientific work and first pro-rector.
In 1969 he defended his Candidate of Technical Science theses, in 1964 – his Doctorate theses.  Directions of his scientific work: developments of methods of mathematic modeling and numerical research of processes of massive and thin-walled space constructions in strength, stability and vibration analysis calculating physical and geometrical non-linearity  under strength, thermal, electromagnetic and other static and dynamic loadings. He created scientific school of developing modern numerical methods of solving tasks of rigid deformed body mechanics.
He trained 20 candidates of science and 4 doctors of science.
He is the author of 420 scientific works including 17 monographs, 15 text-books and manuals. The main works are: “Stability of non-linear mechanical systems”(1982), “Applied problems of theory of mechanical systems nonlinear vibrations ‘(1989), “Calculation of complex form shells”(1992), “Calculation of composite constructions with regard for separation”(1992), “Half analytic finite elements method in building mechanics tasks”(1994); “Numerical modeling of process of reinforced concrete constructions failure using finite elements method”(1996), “Theory and analysis of tree layer constructions having separations”(1997), “Building mechanics”(1999), “Building mechanics. Dynamics of structures”(1998), “Finite elements method in tasks of nonlinear deformation of thin and soft shells”(2000), “Building mechanics and metal constructions”(2001), “Information science. Informational technologies in construction. Computer design systems” (2004).
He was awarded by Third Class Order “For services”, 21 medals, “Excellent Worker of Education of Ukraine” decoration.
